That you HATE of Prince. and why.
I don't have 5 since I am a reformed "fam" and have a lot of catching up to do.
By so far I hate,

Graffitti bridge (except there are some redeeming songs like Question of U). i don't like the Mavis, Morris and Tevin songs. I don't like the Staples sound and Tevin sounds like a adolescent singing in the church choir to me. Morris sounds like warmed over stuck-in-the-80's wanna be pimp.

The second one is Batdance. I bought it for a buck on ebay. DAYUM! I could have had a v-8. I don't really like any of the songs on this CD. I played it and remembered why I fell off the wagon. sorry.

My brother bought the Batman soundtrack when he was like 6 and wouldn't let me listen to it...I told my mom that Prince said the "F" word on it and she took it away, and then I got my grubby little fingers on it. It was my favourite..now it sounds like the "S" word.

Why do so many people hate on For You???

I don't hate it , its alright
Just think he was still developing
at the time , and trying to create his own sound ,
Some of the songs are a bit to bubblegum for me

"Come" and "Rave" are cool !
Perhaps you need to play it

Something about them just doesn't click with me. Rave..., Undisputed, and The Greatest Romance... are the only tracks that I can redeem from Rave.

1. New Power Soul - I truly can not stand it. I tried to get into it, but just can't. I do, however, like "The One" - the only redeeming song on that.
2. The Truth - the guitar playing sounds a bit "country"
3. The Vault/Old Friends for Sale - just NO. I even gave that one away.
4. Dirty Mind - can take it or leave it

I definitely like more than I dislike. I just ordered "Emancipation." I'm hoping I like it. I hear alot of mixed reviews on that one.

I don't have any that I all-out hate. But there are several that I'm nonplussed by.

1. 1999: The New Master (makes me absolutely sick)

2. Chaos & Disorder (like many of the songs individually, but it all adds up to a headache)

3. For You (pleasant enough, but it barely hints at what he's capable of)

4. Xpectation (really liked it at first, now I think it's the weakest of all his instrumental offerings)

5. New Power Soul (I probably like this more than most, but I don't ever go back to it. It was a pleasant surprise when it came out cuz I wasn't anticipating it and it was all Prince vocals. That's probably why I go easy on it.)

I just don't know what to do with 'Chaos & Disorder'.
On all the other albums there's at least one good song.
