Question regarding the 'Spooky Electric' bootleg '86/'87 Can anyone answer my query regarding the 'Spooky Electric' bootleg. It's a recording of two aftershow parties at Camden Palace, London 25/26.07.88 and New Morning Club, Paris 14.06.87.
I'm just curious to know which of the tracks were taken from which shows?

I was a bit lazy with my homework! After consulting Per Nilsen's Prince: A Documentary I now have the answers. For anyone else interested... Camden Palace, London, 25 July 1988 Just My Imagination/Under The Cherry Moon/Six/Dead On It/ Housequake/Forever In My Life/Strange Relationship New Morning, Paris, 14 June 1987 Wasn't My Faith/Mutiny/Sex Machine/Housequake To be exact, I wonder which tracks from the Camden Palace shows were taken from which dates. Further information...
The first aftershow kicked off at about 2am in the morning, Prince played a two hour set, to an invited audience of music industry and press, as well as celebrities including Micky Rourke, Eric Clapton and George Harrison. Unfortunately, the 'Spooky Electric' is incomplete as the show began with a solo rendition by Prince of 'Happy Birthday' for Cat Glover. Mica Paris was in the audience and was handed the mic' to sing on 'Just My Imagination'. Ronny Wood led an animated rendition of 'Miss You', during which Prince did some Mick Jagger impersonations! I think clips of these tracks can be found in the 'Prince-A Musical Portrait' film I think. Unfortunately both 'Spooky Electric' and the documentary do not cover Mavis Staples's appearance for 'I'll Take You There' and 'Chain Of Fools'; plus a 30-min jam of 'Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic' which closed the set.

i've got the full version of the New Morning Club gig.
Wasn't My Faith/Mutiny/Sex Machine/Housequake-he does these but also Red House (changes it to Beach House) Jam In Bb (starts a guitar riff in the key of A, then yells out "B flat!") Just My Imagination (much more laid back version than he usually does. really nice. clean guitar all the way through with a pretty jazzy solo. Mica Paris featured on the London one) "Prince don't hear Ravel when he wanna make love to his woman. He hears drums and shit." Miles Davis

you can discuss specific songs or projects, just not how to get them, where you got yours, etc. i'll letcha know if anything is out of bounds. I have these two gigs on vinyl from back in the day but never upgraded to CD. Thanks to this thread I dug 'em out and gave 'em a spin! Love the guitar solo at the end of Strange Relationship on the Camden Palace show if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

i always wondered why he was being flippant with Hendrix blues- "i got a beach house over yonder..." d'oh "Prince don't hear Ravel when he wanna make love to his woman. He hears drums and shit." Miles Davis
