trust me. it's worth it. especially if you're familiar with rave UN2 and felt like it could be something more. and they don't skimp with the liner notes booklet, either.

Hot Wit U (with Eve) , So Far, So Pleased (with Gwen Stefani) and Baby Knows (with Sheryl Crow) should have been the singles off Rave then Rave would have been a hit. But Prince tryed to return to the success of Beautiful Girl (1994) with The Greatest Romance and it didnt work. (boring) He did the same thing with Betcha By Golly Wow (from Emancipation) and the One (with New Power Soul). It never worked. We want the funk! Give up the funk!
Goodnight, sweet Prince.

I think I read somewhere that "So Far So Pleased" was planned on being a single, but No Doubt's label didn't authorize its release. Prince would have had to rerecord the track with someone else signed to Arista in Gwen's place for it to be released most likely.

"Betcha By Golly Wow" was a top 10 R&B airplay hit in the U.S., but because Billboard hadn't yet allowed airplay only tracks to chart, it never appeared on any of the main charts.

I forgot all about Baby Knows! I used to play that song over and over again. razz After Prince played it on the 1999 New Year's eve payperview special, that prompted me to go buy Rave. I also heard it playing on a soap opera the next week-- so they were waiting for that single too. Sadly, it never was released. Yeah, Rave could have been Big!

But P was tripping trying to be a fake member of the x-generation and went for singles that were supposedly more hip. Remember the braids. Oh Lawd.
