When it comes 2 the splits how do u rate Prince against James Brown? The reason 4 asking I was watching some past performances where P is showing some very slick dance moves. IMHO P is the best entertainer out their. He’s absolutely incredible. I’ve also had the pleasure seeing some past goodies by Mr. Brown himself, better know as “The Godfather of Soul” and the hardest working man in show business. I notice James was real fast slick and wicked and absolutely air tight, where P seems 2 do many other things while going down doing the splits as well as coming up. I’ve seen P come from all directions of the floor, jumping off steps, pianos, twirling, and spinning and all of a sudden he’s doing the splits. Freakin classic. P has my vote. Let me hear from ya!

i love them both...but the fact remains that
1 guy...saw another guy do it first...
and the first guy saw others before him ....
check out the nicholas brothers...they would kick prince and james' ass together !!!!

hmmmmm. james had a stockier more muscular build, he also loved the pork (LOL) so he had a gut by the time he was 46. Though prince is more nimble at this stage ( due to slight build and diet) he no longer does the splits because his joints werent as durable. By 46 james was still doing the splits but they were hard crotch busting splits. In their respective primes i would have to say prince because he's literally the size of a gymnist which afforded him the extra shit like pulling the mic stand between his legs. James is the better overall dancer and he maintained fever pitch movement for longer sustained periods.The nicholas brothers combined athleticism and slight frame, they were better and more durable than prince and james. Sammy Davis jr. was no joke either. Had prince maintained some muscle he'd still probably be doing the splits. Maybe he still can (like iverson can still dunk) but it's more of an issue of conserving energy.

Ok...James is the slickest of the slick. I mean, he's James Brown. They are both different leagues of their own. Once the originator does it, it can never be done the exact same way. Thats why Prince wins on putting his own flavor on things while James wins for starting it all!

The nicholas bros were some thing else wern't they? Damn, these cats r the best tap dancers I ever seen. But a zillion times more then that, they did all these amazing acrobatics that would leave ya speechless. Very diferent in style to say Fred astaire, even fred said they were the best I think?


Anyway James wins handsdown. Prince does good though considering his high heels!

Great feed back! I loved seeing movies with the Nicholas Brothers, Sammy Davis and James Brown 2 name a few. Those cats were amazing in there day. I guest seeing them all and witnessing P is absolutely different because P could do so many different dance moves then come back from doing the splits 2 singing then play the many instruments that he’s known 4 mastering. That’s a whole lot of talent being displayed at one time in heels. I have yet 2 see an artist display the talent that P did in SOTT amongst his other stellar performances throughout his career. His splits were so sexy while embracing the mike while JB’s was straight out slick and wicked LOL……
