When doves cry VS Pray........... Iam honest to say I prefer MC Hammers sample of "when doves cry" in his song "pray" then "when doves cry" itself! I have fond memeories of "pray" and i do like "when doves cry" but I prefer Hammers "pray"

"When Doves Cry" by Prince by FAR. I did used to love how the DJs used to mix the two songs back in 1990 though.
Hammer was not the first to use "When Doves Cry". There was a 12 Inch back in 1984 called "When Doves Cry Rapp" on the Rappers Rapp Disco Co. label. This was not a sample, they remade the song from scratch and rapped over it. The tracklist is as follows: Side A: When Doves Cry Rapp (Part I) - Captain Rapp When Doves Cry Rapp (Part II) - M.C. I just love what hammer did with "pray", PLUS I heard "pray" long beofre "when doves cry" and I loved "pray" as soon as I heard it! I was not there when "when doves cry" first came out. I just love Hammers song more. Prince proberly likes the song now too, with the jehovah thing and all.....anyway, Hammer did something different with the sample and song deserves props 4 being positive! Hammer even recorded at Paisly park. Hammer opied Prince(twice), Prince copied hammer with what were known as The Gameboyz

Maybe the Hammer used the Prince-sample because he know
Prince was so popular at that time or maybe..he just liked the song!!!Ever thought about that? Pray sounded better at clubs but I don't know wich one is better,When Doves Cry isn't one of my favourites so... But NOBODY can't deny that Hammer his best work 'U can't touch this' was Great!!I remember driving 2 a Prince concert in '91 and the whole bus-of Prince-fans off course-was singing Hammer's song!!!!!
