Only on the very few occasions that I see Purple Rain. Another song that brings me to tears is FREE. I think this is because I think about how blessed I am to be born FREE (not into slavery) and in a FREE country. Which enables be to do what ever I want inspite of some injustices. ?Cause me and u could have been a work of art

it used to make me cry because the lyrics reminded me of a former relationship, especially the lines i never wanted to be your weekend lover, only some kind of friend....

I don'r cry when I hear, but I did at the 2 Musicology tours that I went to. That was emotional. Perfect ending to a perfect concert. That was my first Prince concert, but I still knew he would close with that song. Now when I hear it, I usually just close my eyes and sway. I did cry the first time I heard "I Love U, But I Don't Trust U." So Sad.

"I Love You, But I Don't Trust You Anymore" makes me cry too. I saw Prince perform that song at a celebration, and I swear, he had tears in his eyes too. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

The song had never made me emotional until I saw Prince live in May. I'd always loved the song, but when he started the guitar solo a few different things were running through my mind: wow, that's really Prince on the stage (this was my first time seeing him live), wow, I'm at his concert, wow, he's singing Purple Rain, wow, he's getting emotional - - the next thing you know, I was all choked up. There were several people around me that were getting emotional too. It's a beautiful song. "Walk like it's for sale and the rent is due tonight" - J. Yes, everytime I hear it, it makes me cry. This is because, the last time I saw Prince he was singing the song...and I cry ever since. Also, the soul he puts into the song is just breathtaking.
