Wouldn't it be cool if Prince started acting? Prince did very well in Purple Rain, especially going through the motions of his fathers suicide attempt, and he wasn't that bad in Under The Cherry Moon!
So what if Prince did a movie...a supporting role with someone...if he did, wouldn't it be too cool and who would you like to see him star with in a movie? I'd love for Prince to star along side Johnny Depp! In a vampire or period film...(LOL) kinda funny huh, but it would be a big change for him.

As long as he does not direct it and it is directed by an established talent he could go okay as long as he doesn't have to stray too far from type. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

He can do that; he's been creating characters for his songs since always. no

I'd just like the music, please
He did fine for a first timer in PR but an actor he's not. He does pretty good at times but he's a little too aware & needs too much control of the situation. Now if he were to turn himself over to a director, maybe that'd be a different story.

No! He is a rubbish actor... Stick with the music...

I'd love that... but honestly: I don't think Prince's ego could ever do a support part. "Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies -
tongue-tied and twisted, just an earthbound misfit, I"

no, not really. | |

I thought the sentence was incomplete....
"Wouldn't it be cool if Prince started acting like he has alotta music that he wants to put on his website?" but I guess the sentence was complete...

I would love to see him work with a big-name director in a supporting role. He has a little skill and could really steal a movie with the right role and direction.
Biah is right, tho. [Edited 12/20/04 8:57am] Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Come to think of it, there were a lot of unanswered questions in Graffiti Bridge...
Prince could also come back as Christopher Tracy's ghost in the sequel "Further Under the Cherry Moon". He could direct the lives of Tricky and Mary, mess with Mary's father by deleting important business files on his computers and dropping objects on his flunkies' heads, and, of course, give Mary's mom orgasms she never had as a ghostly casanova/pizzaman. Or, maybe he should just stick to music and we should get behind reviving the acting career of one Mr. Jerome Benton, Esquire. After all, he stole every movie he was ever in with P. All good things they say never last...

That's exactly what I was thinking right around scene 2 of Graffiti Bridge. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

The more the merrier with Prince. I would LUV 2 c him in more movies. I agree with the PR, the tears & emotions were very good. He can act, and he is funny!! As a vampire YES baby! In a comedy, Ya-yuh (with Dave Chapelle, of course). In a romance film, Aahhhhh, yeah baby! Gimme more Prince! Insatiable.... Purple Hippies Bang Yo Head On The 1!Dance On, Fellow Purple People!

I think the Prince of today could seriously be a decent actor, maybe even a good actor under the right director. He´s acted in so many different roles in his own art, whether it be music, lyrics, liveshows, videoclips, movies or alter egos.
Who knows, maybe someone will rediscover Prince as an actor again and we might be in for a surprise in some very unexpected script for an interesting movie. Is Quentin Tarantino a Prince fan? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
