"U Got The Look" -- Laurie Anderson influence? I've always been reminded of Laurie in that spoken-word bit where he goes "Ladies and Gentlemen, the dream we all dream of, Boy vs. Girl in the World Series of Love." Especially the way he puts on this digital American female kinda voice. Do you think this was a nod to Laurie's style? Don't think he's ever mentioned her, but I imagine Prince would have been listening to and digging Big Science and Mister Heartbreak in the 80's. | |
