Although Prince is not included among the 5 greatest guitar players of the past 25 years as voted by readers, he came in second among most underrated guitar players. He garnered 29%, just 2% behind AC/DC's Malcolm Young and well ahead of the other three "underrated" guitar players. I think that is impressive when you consider the bulk of Guitar World's readership are not likely to be Prince fans. At least they recognize!

Here's a thought, would Prince have been included in the top 5 of the past 25 years if he had really concentrated on mostly guitar-oriented music instead of being so diverse? What do you think?

As a side note, the same issue of GW features an article on Dimebag Darrell, who was recently shot dead on stage. What a shame. That could have been Prince or any one of our musical heroes.

like my brother ugly and short, i'm thinking a lot of those Guitar World readers watched the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this year and saw something that surprised them during an all-star tribute of George Harrison's guitar-rock classic "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"?
