I have never seen Prince do the splits since.
I guess he passed that gauntlet intercontinental!

I don't know why people don't like it either.

Granted I have to skip over "The Christ," but other than that, I think he shows his continued GUITAR DOMINANCE in this performance.

Don't be hatin' on "The Christ" lol . Dude ripped it up on that one, too. His guitar playing was wonderful throughout the whole show.

Was he actually playing the guitar? I never saw any cords coming from the guitar? I am not hip on music technology, so maybe electric guitars don't have to be plugged in anymore(sort of like a wireless electric guitar). Can someone help me on this?

Overall, I'd give it a C-. I just can not take the wack dancers, the poor editing(especially when I realized that it was a white man stunt doubling for Morris when he was swinging on the rope), the special effects...I could go on and on. I did like the performance of Kiss and the 2 songs he did with Lenny.

She's Always in My Hair is the highlight.

That blonde dancer was as irritating and ridiculous as the embarrassing editing and lackluster crowd.

Oh, also The Christ shake yeesh

You wait outside for 5 or 6 hours in 10 degree weather with a subzero windchill and we'll see how excited you are. Prince just wouldn't open the damn doors.

I guess that's why Jonny Lang went home...
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Gotta love it how he sings along with the notes he plays during the latter half of The Christ. Killer!

I was very disappointed with the way he performed the song "1999" and the kids dancing onstage with The Time was a complete turnoff. A Prince/The Time show should never be a family affair.

My bad, I should have mentioned that Lenny didn't
do anything special during his two songs. Prince
stole both of 'em.

Prince at his least inspired. I think shows like this made him realize he needed a much better band. It's obvious he's enjoying some of it, but I don't think he was that proud of the musicianship.

I think it has its moments, it's nothing compared to the SOTT movie though, which admittedly are the only live performances I've seen of his outside the Musicology concert this fall

Bullshit. Just 'cause it's Prince don't make it good. And the Rave 2000 DVD is not good. At all. If it wouldn't clog my toilet, I would flush that son of a bitch.

It's a big turd. Funky in ALL the wrong ways.

AMEN!!!!! This whole "family affair" thing is (back then and up to the present) just NOT funky, no matter how "cute" any of the moments are! We need it to be FUNKY & NASTY, which means leave the kids at home!

"If anyone's got any kids at home, you better go get 'em cuz we gonna be jammin' for about 20 more minutes...on the SAME song. Sheeyit...I don't care, I don't care..." - Ya just gotta love the TRUE Prince!!! LOL!

I don't know if it's the crowd or the production, but it seems a bit flat just like that Emancipation TV special.

Also the camera angles changing so fast makes me sick.

Prince's guitar playing on Fly Away is great.

The Time is great.

And by 1999 I think the machine is really moving along.

And you gotta love Lisa Ling "party! whoo!"...well maybe not. She must be embarrassed by that.

Hadn't Prince been sick that day? Pretty impressive performance for a sick man! It's just that anyone who's ever been to a real concert knows that video didn't quite capture it.

Diddo.....

Prince's preformance still "went-off" as usual. I was amazed how well he can still move...
I think he also proved himself as a true guitarist.

The DVD seemed cheaply made and I didnt think much of the 2 dancers, they werent as dymanic as they could've been.Didnt do any justice to Prince.

But over all .Luvs it kiss

something in the water did not compute for me during this performance.

So you're gonna conclude that the DVD was bad because of the cinematography? Is that what matters to you?

It was all about the music, and it was all to the GOOD! headbang

3 words - blue jumpsuit (ok, 2 words!)

It had its moments (some even dropjaw) and it was way better than my expectations after hearing so many scathing comments, but it did leave u feeling that something wasn't quite right (did I mention the blue jumpsuit! Oh - and the GRES video!).

Mayb the biggest prob, was that this was the milennium concert and it was riding on P's worst album!
