yeah, the opera/musical he was working on - lots of the songs on "come" were originally gonna go toward this project, if i remember correctly (and if not, i know someone will come to my rescue!).

Prince met Hwang in March 1993 to discuss a musical project concerning the relationship between a musician and a fan. Prince shared a tape with Hwang, who then produced a musical libretto for the songs. The work resulted in Hwang's lyrics for 'Solo', but the musical (entitled 'Come') never saw the light of day.

Part of Hwang's work for Prince was later published in "On a bed of rice, an Asian American erotic feast" Edited by Geraldine Kudaka. Preface by Russell Leong. Anchor Books [1995]. New York.

Includes Ai, Frank Chin, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Garrett Hongo, David Henry Hwang, Joy Kogawa, Chang-rae Lee, Evelyn Lau, Bharati Mukherjee, David Mura, S. P. Somtow, and more than sixty others.

ISBN: 038547640X

The above book is still available fron online retailers.

Sounds as if some of these ideas were realized on the Interactive CD-ROM.
