For those who say Prince is still coasting

For those of you who say Prince is still coasting and not making the kind of music you think he should make, okay, here's your chance to make suggestions. What kind of music would you like to see him release in album form next.

Now before you answer, I need to let you know that if anyone says anything to the effect of "I wish he would make more music that sounded like what he did in the 80's", you will be chewed up and spit out. This is 2004, not 1984, and all you people need to stop living in the past.

So what would it take to please all of you?

BTW, tell Prince that it's 2004 and not 1984, because he himself plays those songs again and again in concerts.
He loves them as much as we do, and enjoys them as much as we do.
So yes, I want another album like Purple Rain, Sign O The Times and Lovesexy.

There! you can spit all over now, I got my umbrella open biggrin

I want Prince to release music on those new-fangled shiny discs that I've heard about. Me no likey downloads.

Oh yeah, and give me some '80 style synth just to piss off PoetBear68.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

well....in the eighties, he came out with cool new stuff every year.
stuff that blew me away, stuff that i wasnst expecting, and nobody else was doing.
Everything he did was then was in many ways diffrent than anything id heard of.

in the nineties, he tried to be like eveyone else, and his old self, nothing new.

I miss the fun that seemed to be in his music, the fresheness, the strangeness.

Im not going to bash his ninties output but to me it seemed stale.

I want more guitar influenced, surround sound, nasty, dirty, funk rock from
him. I love when his music can fill the while room (if you know what I mean?)

I love newer Prince, but some of it sounds
kinda "adult-urban contemporary " with a hint of jazz
which is nice, but not innovative or creative its just easy

I expect more from P cause of course he the BEST!
If you will, so will I

Instrumental covers of hard, metal & acid rock & roll.

Prince re-do "Honky Tonky Woman" but no singing please. I loved the way ya took "HTW" and ripped it into a new zone. Just like you did with "While My Guitar Genlty Weeps".

Go on with your bad self...papi.

"The Undertaker" = Prince's cover of "HTW".

Why not do something like the 1980s (the early 1980s, not the late 1980s)? He's been doing stuff that sounds like the 1960s and 1970s for years now.

If he is going to do another accoustic album, I'd love to hear him do simple guitar or piano versions of some of his greatest hits. THE TRUTH was cool, but imagine him inspired by his latest tour (the accoustic part) and just laying down some simple funk!

I'd also like to see him release a CB II, or even an album of his demos for songs released by others. Wouldn't you like to hear his version of the songs others re recorded?

I know, I am living in the past, but these wouldn't require too much work and might be a nice release in between 'official' new albums.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Do some pure pop that does not sound like rock or rnb! re-invent it, "lovesexy" was still pop but had its own vibe, I wish he could do that again.....

Well, I wasn't even living in 1984,so I'm not living in the past, but I wish he would go back to his music of that era, that is classic P right there. Although I do love his new stuff, 80's era Prince will always be my favorite.

No, boundaries cannot be put on your wishes, but there is such a thing as living in the past, and if you want albums that all sound like that, then you'd be doing GUESS WHAT? - living in the past!

The only problem is that this is not the past.
