This photo touches something very deep inside of me.
He looks as natural with his instrument as does any human extending an arm or bending a leg. That thing is part of him.
And the way the light shines down on him - it's such a spiritual thing.
God, I love this image.

The lighting is perfect. His pain, joy, spirituality, his genius all shows in this picture.He looks like a little boy playing with a new toy. He looks very vulnerable. I often wonder what song he was playing.

With the lighting like that I can see the music stream down from the heavens and pour out from his insrument like he has no control over it, it just comes and he lets it out.

The pic makes me long for the days when Prince was like this. Hungry. Needing to make every note be the best that he's ever played. Desperate to show those small audiences that it's in his blood and sweat. He's unbound by convention.
