Umm.. dont want to spread rumours but i just got a latest issue of a finnish music magazine Rumba and on their list of upcoming releases it said:

March 2005; Prince: Unplugged (BMG)

Anyone heard anything about this?
I didnt find any info on BMG site.

I hope it's just a rumor. Not only do I hate accoustical music but it would also be Prince following trends.

I did look forward to his accoustical set on the "Musicology" tour though....so I could go to the restroom, piss out some of the beer I had been drinking, and get back before he started jamming again without missing anything.

I think it could be wise to publish acoustic album only through his website. casual fans wouldn't appreciate it.

That being said, I didn't really care for 'The Truth' either, but a full 'unplugged' band performing new and old songs (i.e. Nirvana Unplugged in NY) would appeal to me.

One cna always try and find the accoustic set he did at one of the Paisley Park Celebrations.

I heard it once and it was fantastic. Lots of rare gems played out.

What would be cool is a 2cd box with brand new Music+ 1 bonus cd of acoustic songs from his catalogue !!

I totally agree. I am a hardcore fan and I wouldn't like it either. I'm with MashedPotatoKid...I want new music. I don't want it stripped down either.
