i was just thinking about how many people like different styles of music for many different reasons....the jazz lover may love the way his/her favorite artist improvises...the rock lover may love the way her/his favorite artist rocks out on guitar...the funk lover may dig the stinking ASS nastiness of his/her favorite artist' bass playing...the person who loves to dance may dig a tune cause of the kool beat...for many folks these kinds of taste are what makes or breaks a song for them..
i know even in prince world there are many different feelings about what tunes are good or bad...what era's are bad and which era's KICK ASS !!
some think musicology sucks...and some think its his best work in over a decade....why...? is it media..? is it radio....?
why are when doves cry and kiss and 1999 some of his so called "best songs" when all the true fans i know dont EVER even think about those tunes hardly ???

Like waht you like cause the radio doesn't play it...

Like what you like for what ever reason you wish to like a song... because bottom line is no one has a right to dictate to you what your taste and interest are, or your motivations...cause they are not you. When they decide that they will fork out every dollar for every CD you wish to listen too or get off their ass and turn the station on Cable or Radio and find some thing for you to listen too .. or just plain brainwash you in to liking what they like cuase thier opinion says 'this is good music'...they still will have no right to judge you.

What a good song means? Is any thing which makes your head bob, your fingers snap, makes you wanna get your groove on or satisfies you emotionally in any way... regardless of what ANYONE else thinks.

Some may call me crazy for liking Musicology... or thinking the new Ashanti video/ song is great and she is 'toe sucking hot' ... but well... ya know what...FUCK EM'... they ain't me and they dont have to like what I like. The moment I compromise my interest for any reason I dont wish to compromise my interest for... ,means i'm selling my self out... wether it be too the masses as so 'called' sheep..or to a bunch of so called 'real music' lovers.

A good song is anything I determine it too be for what ever reason or criteria I decide upon... not what You... or any one else does.....period.
