A Lot of Pahrell's sounds are very reminiscent of Prince's early sound. That song "Frontin'" is his version of "Kiss" IMO.

That's far too much credit , man
All the guy does is use samples
There's no comparison disbelief

quote me some of his samples please. Puffy is famous for samples, not Pharell.

Oh and don't forget to check out Seymore Bits (http://www.dmxkrew.dircon...n/base.htm)and Bastian (http://www.bastianmusic.nl/). These acts are the same person, the first act is even more Prince than the second.

Oh, Bastian, will have to look into Seymore Bits if they're the same person, I really liked Bastian's 'You Got My Love' cool

I don't think Seymore Bits has an album out but he has made some 12" records, not only on Breakin' but also on Klakson. Check out Dexter too, you might already know his underground hit "I don't care".
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Yeah as far as I know The Neptunes don't sample too much. They can actually hold some instruments. wink

I have 'The Nineties' - I guess it is quite sparse electro-funk. smile
