Best Album cover Of all the Prince album(eg.CDs,tapes,12")covers, which one is the best?
My vote is for Around the World in a Day. With The Rainbow Children a close second.

I have always loved the assymetrical balance of "Sign 'o the Times" cover photograph. All of the supporting photography during that time was beautiful. I think he had some of his best looks (fashion-wise) then as well. "It's all good when U no the only fame is the light that comes from God, and the joy U get 2 say His name."

I going with Dirty mind on this one. As a whole package, the cover art works perfectly w/ the type of music and subject matter.

Lovesexy - he looks beautiful and it's so cleverly done.

I think SOTT was the best album cover design. ATWIAD would be a close second, then Graffiti Bridge and then TRC.
But I wish his face wasn't blurry on SOTT.

I'd have to say SOTT...I have a framed vinyl copy up on my living room wall. Guests always say how cool it looks and then they ask who it is... "...literal people are scary, man literal people scare me out there trying to rid the world of its poetry while getting it wrong fundamentally down at the church of "look, it says right here, see!" - ani difranco

I love the cover of Sign 'O' The Times. It makes u focus on the instruments and the signs in the background, rather than on Prince. It's almost as if they sort of threw him down there as an afterthought. It places emphasis on music and on the message rather than the man.
I also love the cover of the U.S. version of Diamonds & Pearls. Hee hee, look at Prince wave! The Mothership Connection... Funk, Soul, R&B, & Jazz every Monday night @ 8:00 p.m. Listen @ www.wqaq.com (We are off the air 4 the Summer. Returning in early September 2004)

The Black Album was nice. My band was inspired by it enough to release "The Plaid Album."

I would say Rainbow children I love the art. www.3121.com
it is the symbol of total transformation. Butterfly represents a need for change and greater freedom, and at the same time it represents courage: one requires courage to carry out the changes

I love the Parade album cover, especially the gatefold sleeve, with the terrific black and white collage of stills from the movie 'Under The Cherry Moon'... shame that the CD release did not do the original artwork any justice... "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

ATWIAD was cool but Parade was his most striking cover. its very david bowie but its brillient! Sign O the times is also cool

I think prince is pretty horrible in his taste for album covers. all of them are stills, the only dynamic one is TRC. he looks pretty horrible on most pics (jeff katz, his main photographer in the 80s, was not the blame). after all, I can say I like TRC the most. sad thing: prince had nothing to do with the design. but I like lovesexy too. it definetely is a piece of art. ATWID is too dead for me. there's nothing happening in the painting, but I like the message of some of the characters and I dig the woman's body silhouette in the back "Peace and Benz -- The future, made in Germany"

1999
It seems to contain much of what was, and still is on the man's mind.
