Name one thing you just thought you HAD to have by prince, but now absolutley have no use for? You know you see something, get all geeked about getting it, and then pretty soon you don't know why the hell you paid money for it. Mine is a CD interview of Prince--I listened to it one time and put it away. Another is that "Billboards" VHS tape of the Joffrey Ballet--uggh. you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

An expensive bootleg vinyl copy of "The Black Album" that I bought in 1990.I paid a fortune for it because I thought that it would never be officially released

The Emancipation lyric book! What a waste of money. "How embarrasing to be human!"

Haha... though it is actually a rather sad thing... with all the pics of Prince in the baby's room... Still a goddamn waste of money though. "How embarrasing to be human!"

- 1999: The New Master
- various bootlegs which are just AWFUL in quality (including those piss-poor "TV features/appearances around the world" VHSs) - A really crap "Sign O The Times" desk clock from the Camden Town Prince Shop - various posters - NEO MANIFESTO (i still like it, but it was grossly overpriced when i bought it) - Kama Sutra

The Diamonds & Peals note transcriptions. There's really not that much to play, those transcriptions on all the classic Prince albums were just piss-poor quality (except maybe for "Purple Rain"). And I had to have the one of "D&P" because the local library didn't have it in its collections.

The complete Emancipation album. It was the first album that I didn't buy at the day of release since Purple Rain. I decided to listen to it first and I was so turned off by it that I didn't buy it until I saw it for 8 euro about three years later. Even these miserable 8 little euro's proved to be too much money for this collection of plastic, watered down Prince tunes. I still hate the album with a passion! RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

You don't have no use for the B-sides??? not when you begin to get hold of the b-sides plus more, in the form of bootleggage. i had a use for the box set when i first started gettin into prince but as time went on and i started gettin hooked up with stuff, it became obsolete.

Y does everybody hate Emancipation? I really like it. "There's only three things for sure in life. We're all born, we all die, and Prince will make another record on of these days." - Alan Leeds

the consensus 'round here seems to be split down the middle: some like it, others don't. The consensus wasn't like that some years ago. It's the new brethren of .orgers that generally dislike it, most old-timers call it the best of the 90s anyway. And believe me funkaholic: had you paid 40 euros for that record in the first place, like the rest of us, you would have bloody hell been forced to like that goddamn record.
