What song is so overplayed to u you just can't stand it? For me it is "Rasberry Beret" Whenever I hear that song I get extreamly irritated!

Kiss and ... hate to admit it ... I usually skip Purple Rain when listening to recent live recordings.

Well, down here in Oz, the only Prince track you ever see on TV is "Cream". I guess it's because that was "the hit" when he toured here back in '92. It sucks because there's a whole generation that think that's all there is to Prince - some funny looking dude singing a cheesy weak pop song!

Kiss. You'll hear that shit on the radio before you hear Moonbeam Levels. Well, it's between that and Raspberry Parade.

Purple Rain by far. I personally love this song, I get goosebumps whenever I hear it; this song is very important to me. But this the most universally recognized Prince song and thus the most played Prince song ever.

seriously? i seldom hear it, and i'm in the states. most stations here are stuck on playin "let's go crazy" a billion times a day.

In german radio Prince songs are very rare, so I´m always glad to hear a song - even if it´s "Little Red C.", which sounds to much like mainstream rock to me. But there´s one song you are forced to hear in nearly every concert or live CD/DVD: "Take me with you". The first 10 years were o.k. but maybe 10 years ago I started to hate this song.

I have to list them together due to their pairing in live concerts and the fact both songs are overplayed individually. They are super-happy songs with exuberont pop appeal, and that means you need to be in a gggrreeeeaaat mood to truly appreciate them. For some reason, I am unable to do so every damn time.

Songs like 1999, LRC, WDC, PR and Kiss are played and played and played but they are classic cuts of the highest order. They are not just great songs, they are true musical achievements with an impact on culture at large. I haven't heard some of them in several years (the studio track at least), but I've been through the same period before and their charm always resurfaces. By comparison, I've failed to revive any interest in TMWU/RB.

Those three take the cake. I can listen to "Kiss" all day if I have to. But listening to an old school station every Friday, I can guarantee I'll hear those two played the most during that day.

They play "I Wanna Be Your Lover" to death here on the old school station.

All I ever hear on the radio here in Indpls is Kiss...but then again I dont listen to the radio much anyway...

Oh yeah it is SO Kiss. I think that is the most overrated Prince song totally. Most hardcore fans aren't a big fan of the song, only fans who are casual fans I think...

well over here in Guyana Prince doesn't get alot of airplay but when he does it is always Purple Rain, Always, Always!!

Purple Rain...I left one of my four Musicology shows early during Purple Rain to get in line for an aftershow instead. I know it's blasphemy but even Prince had no emotion when he played it that night.
