Hey, maybe this has been discussed before (pretty sure), but I don't know anything about a (grey) remix of Jay Z rappin over Prince beats. Can anybody enlighten me? Saw the following on ebay...

There are 2 different versions of these albums. One of them uses all Prince beats from Purple Rain while the other one uses just random Prince beats. I have the one that uses the Purple Rain beats. It's not too bad but nothing to brag about either. I've only listened to it twice since I've had it.

That's not true. Ever since DJ Danger Mouse mixed Jay Z's Black Album with the Beatles' White album, creative DJs have been doing these mixes and the Purple Album is the best of it's kind, in my opinion. Jay z's also mixing with Linkin Park and Metallica, why not mix with Prince???!!

They have the songs on Newpowerradio.

Go listen to them first.

I'm a big fan of both but didn't like the songs at all.
The formula is Acappella of Jay-Z Songs beat matched to drum-loops of prince songs.


Also, being a d.j. and a remix artist, I know that selling that c.d. is highly illegal. Unlease you get licenses for each and every song , you can't sell a remix of OTHER artist, nor can you sell a mix tape of those artist.

Mix tapes are forms of love for the artists, ease up.

If you put "promotional use only" on them , then that means you can't sale it. You can send mix tapes out to people for free as long as you want but you just can't sell it unless you get licenses from each artist of each song.

Prince and Jay-z don't care, but they aren't the ones that will go after you. The RIAA will.

I personally hate the RIAA. I was just stating the facts. I also love mixtapes also, just not this particular one. I told the guy to go on Newpoweradio and listen for himself. I wasn't judgeing. I was just stating my opinion and then facts about mixtapes.

Truly awful. No redeeming qualities to this collection of hot garbage.
