PRINCE in Q Magazine's Top Songwriters!...

Not sure if it's been reported b4, but UK music mag "Q" listed PRINCE (with a photo and summary) amongst the greatest song writers of the Rock & Roll era, along with Lennon/McCartney, Dylan, Jagger/Richards, Holland/Dozier/Holland, Bacharach/David, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley and Eminem (???).

I believe it's last month's issue which is current in Australia.

Wendy & Lisa are name-checked on page 6 of Attitude magazine's "Lesbians We Love" feature.

Oh, Eminem's alright. He's pretty witty. Not in a classic sense though, i mean I doubt people will be doing cover versions of his songs in 20 years time. They were probably just looking for some contemporary songwriter to put in the list. And let's face it, legendary songwriters are thin on the ground this era. Who will they remember as a great songwriter from the 90s? Cathy Dennis?!

Kurt is mentioned as well.

I'll pick up the mag 2morrow and post the complete list.

vivid

That is a couple of issues old now. Q always feature him. There are several mentions in the latest:

C Girl as the first on their list of essential tunes this month

Gwen Stefani mentions him in an interview

Darling Nikki/Gore story in their Rock & Roll & Children feature

Rainbow Children in a list of worst cover art

Kiss on an ultimate party playlist (nominated by Matt Bellamy of Muse)

Sign O The Times on a list of essential protest songs

and finally Rachel Stevens (crap pop singer) cites Prince's Greatest Hits as the 'last record I loved' after being turned on to him by her bro.

Not bad for someone who hasn't been heard of here in the UK for a long long time.

Right On. This guy had a shitty childhood and he is making a whole career out of writing violent and hatful lyrics to shitty music. Save it for a shrink because it is a bore. It will only be a matter of time before people are saying
Emine who unless he drops the non-stop bitch fest.
