hi everyone.... I need a little help choosing songs for a 2 CD Prince compilation I'm making for my friend. My friend digs funky music and also some jazz so I would like to focus on P's funky side although I could slip in a few songs that are a bit different (no slow jams though!). The CDs I can choose the songs from are: Prince, Dirty Mind, 1999, Purple Rain, Sign O' the Times, Lovesexy, Symbol, Gold Experience, The Vault, Rainbow Children, Musicology, Hits/B-sides. Any suggestions are welcome

u should definitely include the first 5 tracks from the vault. U might omit 5 Women cuz its slow, but i think it's a great song. Also from the same cd, put when the lights go down, thats one of P's best songs ever.Im a huge fan of the rainbow children cd, so i would suggest you include the first 3 songs from that one. From SOTT: the title track, Housequake, Hot Thing, IT, and maybe Strange Relatiuonship.
From 1999: Automatic, Something In the Water, DMSR
From Lovesexy: Anna Stesia, maybe Dance On
From the rest: Bambi, Illusion, Coma..., Now.

I wanna thank camilleisfunky for making suggestions for my 2CD set.... however these tracks are probably little more than 1 CD.... so if anyone else wants to make suggestions for my compilation that would be very welcome

Well.... thank U all for the help.... I've burned the CDs for my friend... the first one is more straight up funk but the second one is much more eclectic than I planned to..... I decided to close the set with something soothing (Power Fantastic) after all that funky music...
