am i the only one with a spouse who just don't get prince. they like his stuff but always make you turn off the cd in truck because we've already heard that song once today. don't understand why newpowerradio is bookmarked. they just don't appreciate the genius of his music. oh well just curious.

i turned my sweetie on to prince and bowie at the same time, and he's taken to bowie far much more than he's taken to prince...though oddly, he really likes prince's instrumental stuff, like "N.E.W.S." and "Xpectation". he just asked me a couple of weeks ago, "so does prince still dress in the ruffly shirts and the lace gloves and stuff?" i still love him, though...

Let me preface by saying I am the Prince maniac in our house. He is just a co-dependent.
In 1996 Prince announced he was coming to Boston but he was playing the Roxy (a night club - capacity 2500) so tickets were impossible to get. My husband (knowing tickets didn't go on sale until 10am) drove 2 hours from home at 1am, arrived in line around 3am, and stood in line for 7 hours.
Did I mention this was January in New England?
It was fffffrrrrreeeeezing. He had no gloves, just a coat. He did not think to bring food or drink. (People in line w/him were drinking hot mugs of coffee and eating snacks) and of course he could not leave the line to pee or anything.
He was on his own.
He stood the whole time (other people thought to bring lawn chairs and blankets)

After getting the tickets he drove 2 hours back home and another 45 minutes to my job just to show me them.
I Adore this man. In the highest sense of the word Adore and we all know what I mean by that.

I'm married 2 some1 who absolutely hates every single thing about Prince. His music, his clothes, religeous beliefs, U name it-he hates it.

Although he tends 2 make up 4 it at times. For xample, he bought me xcellent seats 2 the Musicology tour in L.A. 4 no other reason than he knew it would make me happy.
