post JW conversion lyric changes

in "i feel 4 u": "i wouldn't lie to you baby, it's mainly a spiritual thing..."

in "get off": "23 scriptures in a one night stand..." (that one takes the cake)

what other raunchy lyrics has prince biblified over the past few years?

The eery, most subtle one that I noticed was during The Question of U:

"If I sell my soul... never!... now what will it cost?"

yeah, but i thought that was kinda charming or sweet or something...i didn't mind that one. dunno why. i guess compared to 'the christ' it was subtle and understated. shrug

lol lol

might sound better if changed to "If I sell my gold... now what will it cost?"

or

"If I sell vault...now what will it cost?"

instead of adding that "never" inbetween.

I've heard some other versions where he goes "If U sell your soul" instead.

Prince shouldn't be fucking around with his original lyrics. Ever. If he doesn't like the words anymore, he just shouldn't be singing the songs at all. neutral

It's one thing to do new songs that reflect his current beliefs, but he should not be fucking with any of his older work.

Not sure what the situation is with Gett Off at the moment. Did he do it at all on the last tour?

He changed it to "scriptures" around the time of Rave 2000 but he changed it back to "positions" for the Hit'n'Run tour. Go figure.

These lyric changes remind me of an episode of "The Simpsons" where Red Hot Chili Peppers were to perform on Krusty the Clown´s show and Krusty suggested that they change some of their lyrics for that performance. One of the suggestions was "What I´d like to do is I´d like to kiss and hug you" instead of "What I got you gotta get and put it in you". lol
