When you record as much as Prince you're bound to have a good number of stinkers. I agree that Silly Game, We get's Up, Poom Poom, My name is Prince and Jughead are some of his lowest moments. I don't mind Arms of Orion or Animal Kingdom much. Wedding Feast IS NOT A SONG!!!!
The one song with no redeeming qualities is one in which I would stop whatever I'm doing and dive for the skip button on my CD player to avoid hearing. That would be none other than New Power Soul. That song is just terrible. |

I LOVE the song...but I don’t care for how it ends. I like the message presented in the rap, but I hate the choice of words he uses. It’s TOO dirty for such a strong album. (Amazingly strong). Seriously-- it feels like sabotage, and lists as one of the many embarrassments I have in listening to Prince. The rap ends wonderfully though: “And we'll try 2 imagine what it looks like Yeah, we'll try 2 imagine what, what silence looks like” | |
