Why is "SO BLUE" so slept on I have always thought that SO BLUE from FOR YOU was one of Prince's most beautiful ballads...I'm surprised that the song isn't a quiet storm classic ala "Do Me Baby", "Adore." It has such a laid back jazz undertone to it.....pure beauty...anyone else feeling that forgotten about classic? | |

totally feel the beauty of this one!!! like i mention on the thread about the 4U album:"soft & wet" is what they put N heavy rotation on radio stations & was pretty much on the 'sex sells' program & it definately was given most of the focus from the industry...i always wondered Y "Just as long as we're together" didn't get much airplay cuz the stations i listened 2 N the midwest & south N that era '78-'80 played plenty of full/concert version of tunes & i felt like "Just" offered shades of things 2 come  i was only starting 2 get my feet wet N the industry then & was exhuberantly optimistic with the thought good music was all U needed 4 success...B4 i knew how music 'programming' decisions R REALLY made  "So Blue" COULD play N some radio format 2day if a PD would 'dare 2 show some brilliance'...hello college & internet stations!!!

Definately one of MY faves!!!! Simple guitar, simple tune, and a beautiful voice. A definate classic.
