I heard on the radio that Prince has reserved a seat at 6 of John Mayer's concerts but according to John, Prince has never shown up. That is quintessential Prince, right? He says he does feel the pressure to perform to do best of his abilities though when he thinks Prince might show up.I can appreciate John's creativity and musicianship. I can see why Prince would at least bother to reserve a seat at one of his shows. I like John's, "Your Body Is A Wonderland", "Clarity" and "Daughters". Honestly, I don't think I could sit through a whole concert though. I find it hard to listen to his full CD's because he's got this mumbling thing that gets annoying after about three songs. And you can't understand what he's saying. What you do you think?

Yeah, it's obvious that he has great respect for Prince. He sometimes plays bits and pieces of Prince stuff when he performs live -- like when he weaves The Most Beautiful Girl In The World into Your Body Is A Wonderland.

Although I was already a fan of his music to a degree, I wasn't aware of his incredible talent until I saw him perform live. I've now been to two of his concerts. He's a true musician whose talent is best displayed at his live shows, and I was quite stunned by his abilities. His CDs, while good at conveying his "singer-songwriter" abilities, do not even scratch the surface of his gifts.

So I can completely understand why Prince would want to see him perform, as he is a fan of real music

John Mayer is my idol.

Check out Mayer's show on VH1 this weekend. Its a funny half hour of him making fun of himself and some of his fan's perceptions of him as a pin-up boy.

The show is called "John Mayer Has a TV Show".

John Mayer sounds a little like Jamie Walters the Ray dude from the 90s show 90210.

I also had The Heights album that he sang on, only because of "How Do You Talk to an Angel". I dug the guitar solo.
