Brings Tears To My Eyes Watching P's 2 minute solo at the RRHOF performance on While My Guitar Gently Weeps makes my eyes well up. I am just speechless everytime I watch it. Here is a link to the performance for those that have not seen it.

I just copy and pasted it from Housequake, so I am not sure what to tell you. It's a streaming video, so I just clicked on the link and it worked. Yes, he was. Our li'l Prince played his ass off. I laugh everytime I see him lean back into the crowd and his plant catches him and at the end when he throws the guitar in the air. Such a show-off. | |

At the end of this magnificent performance Prince throws his guitar into the crowd. But before he walks away you can see him making sure that it was caught. He sure can stay cool regardless of the amount of heat emits.

Such a show-off. the thing i think is most interesting about that performance is that as much as it sounds like prince is just going off into the tenth dimension with that guitar solo, you can tell he's totally, completely in control and very much aware of the reactions of the other musicians on stage...the dude is up there to upstage everyone else, like he's determined to make it HIS night, and since he was probably pressured into performing with other artists, he was determined to blow everyone off stage...it's not like at a prince concert, where sometimes it feels like prince has gone to some other mental plane while he's getting lost in a killer guitar solo. the man definitely had his bitch claws out that night, and dammit all, he got what he wanted - he killed 'em! | |
