And I am perfectly happy with my scratchy, foggy, worn-out, transferred VHS copy that has all the garish colours bleeding into each other like in some deadhead's fantasy. And you know just how garish those colours in that film are! Not to mention my remote control is broke and I can't even tone 'em down on my TV. Now, that's what I call a "beautiful experience"

I've just won a laserdisc on Ebay of "Prince & The Revolution: Live!"

It was only £18.92 including postage!!!

No, I don't have a laserdisc player, but I've found a company in the UK which transfers old laserdiscs to DVD!

Perfect digital video and CD-quality sound! I caaaaan't wait! I haven't seen this concert for YEARS!!!

I know the cover looks a bit shitty, but I believe it's taped up in a plastic bag.



One of my friends works in a photographic shop and they have industrial-sized scanners there, so I'll get him to scan the cover artwork, so I can make a DVD cover.

There are loads more out there at the moment and they're all really cheap.

Some of the later laserdiscs actually have 5:1 sound.

Not condoning pirating, but somebody somewhere could make money snapping some of these up and copying to DVD.

All of these have already been transferred from LD to DVD and are circulating amongst traders, not to mention The Undertaker and Live in Syracuse, as well as a new transfer of Lovesexy 88.

I have many of the laserdiscs.... and laserdiscs can get laser rot... google up "laser rot" on laser discs....

I made my own covers and it looks chipper. I wasn't too bothered about them before, but I will definately acquure all the official videos releases on fan-DVD, especially if they've been transferred from LD, I didn't know that.
