Good Love I got Crystal Ball ages ago, only really to get hold of Crucial - one of my favourite tracks.
I listened to one of the discs the other day and came across Good Love and I can't listen to anything else right now. A minor masterpiece. It'll keep me going until I manage to get hold of All My Dreams I guess. One day I'll find it...

i remember hearing this for the first time when the "bright lights big city" soundtrack first came out, and i completely fell in love with the song on first listen. that it's on the crystal ball CD is one of the minor treasures of that set.

That song proves how good Prince is at writing pure cheesy pop songs.....great stuff! the production would give New kids on the block/ Puala Abdul a run 4 their money..... [Edited 11/27/04 16:53pm]

I LOVE that song.
I heard it for the first time when Bright Lights-Big City came out, and didn't know that it was tied to that album. A radio station played the new Prince song, and it sounded kind of like something from SOTT, but it was a completely synth sound with Camille on it. It's one of the few times where his rapping actually doesn't ruin the song. Very hip, poppy, and completely fresh compared to the crap that was on radio back then. Oh Prince, throw away this stupid "tradition school-is-in-session" crap and go back to experimenting and dressing in drag. Flame us with your uber-gayness once more!

Even though the OST version is longer, I actually prefer the CB version. Much more of a compact song, the long version has that pseudo "extended" feel, with all that "gut luv part 2" shit. Probably the only time I'd take the edited version over the full length mix!

Irresistible. And... rather cute actually.
