lines that prince say while he plays guitar what lines you noticed before prince rips into guitar solos i heard him say:

you know, as far as i'm concerned, prince and hendrix are the only guitarists i know of who can get away with making the guitar face. it looks just plain dumb on about 99% of the people who try to make playing guitar look like they're getting a first-class hummer. zappa and cobain did some insane things on guitar, and they never made those faces. | |

not taking anything away from Frank or Kurt may they both RIP, but most guitarists including me, make the faces, because sometimes certain runs hit you a certain way,or a stretch really fuckin hurts but ive gotten so into playing that i look down and my strings have blood on em.
so if you see a guitar player making that "Face" just know that they are in a certain place that most people dont even know. | |

so if you see a guitar player making that "Face" just know that they are in a certain place that most people dont even know. my mom was in a rock band in the '60s (she was the drummer), and i just remember what she used to say when i was a kid and we'd be watching MTV together - "i wish that guitar solo was as good as the faces he's making!" | |
