I was just talking to one of my friends about the SOTT and he said that there was such a great book about that album and it was definitely worth checking out. I just saw it on www.amazon.com and put it in my wishlist. So, before I even buy it, is it any good?

i know some people don't like it because it's written in the form of a first-person memoir, but i really enjoyed reading it - it's a lot of fun, it digs deep into an analysis of the album and the time it was recorded, and i think it captures the feeling of what it was like to be blown away by that record the first time you heard it. and it's also little and cute and a nice fun quick read. don't expect it to be the key to all prince's secrets - because it's not...not even close - and you won't be disappointed.
