I hadn't heard anything about the CD, or the title, but the track has been circulating for a while. When I first heard it, word was that P had donated his version of the hymn to a JW organization. At that point, some were saying that it was an unitled hymn, but I'm not sure on that point.

AndyKeen's description is fairly accurate. Its nothing groundbreaking, but its not unpleasant either.

yeah, i've heard tales about these JW hymn recordings - i think they were recorded for private use within the congregation he belongs to, and most people i've communicated with who have heard the tracks have been folks close to the church who have been respectful about not letting these tracks slip into the "purple underground"...though i'm sure they're out there somewhere.

Prince ought to hook up with Marilyn Manson and join The Blood & Shit Temple Of Satan's Lusty Horns (or whatever devil worshippers call their religion). The music he made for them would at least be interesting.

Ya know, I've had this conversation before. Whatever music produced with a satanic influence definitely wouldn't be boring.

On an aside: I wonder if P.'s actually gonna stick with this JW kick? On the one hand, he seems pretty happy -if boring as fuck - recently. On the other, he's a fickle guy. Who knows? Maybe he'll change his mind. Maybe he won't.

i think marilyn manson's music is boring as listening to my radiator crackle. in fact, i get more comfort from listening to my radiator than i do enjoyment from a MM album. i always think his stuff sounds like pearl jam in a bad mood.

I'd heard it, but I wasn't aware it was P.

Disappointing is an understatement.
