COMPARED TO THIS MUSICOLOGY IS LIKE WEAK COFFEE! The War has great moments - the organ solo, Prince's Guitar solo (perhaps the sickest thing he has ever commited to tape). Vocally, there are some excellent moments, too. In particular the part beggining with "so you say, you gotta cure"
Unfortunately, some of the lyrics are not so good, just babble. Don't even get me started on the sheep in the audience that night! "Do you love your country"? "YESSSSS"! Blah blah blah...microchip..chocolate..neck..etc... "Do you STILL Love your country"? "NOOOOO"! This type of response just annoys me. It was a nice gift to receive through the post though. The War is one of the BEST things he ever did - the only time it felt like this whole freedom/name-change thing could lead to something interesting. I agree - all ppl flip over this whatever they think about P b4.
Getting it in the post was one of the best surprises I've had. Now for the bad news - I've lost the cassette!!!! "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"
