last i heard is that the next album is "for the fans" and will be an acoustic album of him playing his hits, basically a studio shot of the acoustic part of the tour.
Does anyone remember when this was first talked about? I coul swear Prince mentioned this in some interview, or it was in some form of print. thx peace leadline PS i hope it is not the above, i would personally like an album of new material. theres been several rumours but its hard to sort through the bullshit, although i suppose presuming everything is bullshit is the easiest way to be correct
i think love2thenines2003 said off camera when doing an interview for australian tv prince said the next album will be for the fans. i cant remember if he/she said prince said it would be in nov though. its official (i think?) prince has been in talks with blue note record label to release a "live instrumental" album, people presumed it was xpectation but theres abit of confusion as thats not live. the director or whoever of blue note saiid he expected it to come out at some point (cant remember if he said "soon" or whatever) there was also the rumour that it would be "auto-acoustic" which would be his greatest hits released in acoustic style, i can see the sense in this, as his acoustic section of the tour has been the most critically lauded, and it would be a prince sanctions greatest hits, for some reason i think xmas release sticks in my head for this but that might just be me thinking when would be the logical time to release it when prince was on the cover of entertainment weekly wendy&lisa had a blurb at the side saying they were going to record a new album with prince very soon. but i have a feeling they might have been misquoted with that one. i think thats all of them for the year so far!   | |

In fact we don't know Nothing about a new album....because with prince's Mind...this can change everyday ....4 Each day = A new album!! The last rumours coming around one more....it's a new or old(xpectation??) jazz instrumental album due 4 release on Blue Note record before this year or later next year(from my point of u ...i hope Not)....But only Prince knows at this time!! |

There is also a rumour a cd is scheduled
for release Nov. 30th but nothing to substantiate that beyond hearsay. But I like that rumour & am going to believe it for a few weeks. In fact I've convinced myself it will be a dvd/cd combo package. | |
