I have this video footage of Michael Jackson and a bunch of other musical celebrites doing this all-star jam for James Brown. It's early 80's. Prince comes in riding piggy-back on Chick, plays some guitar licks then leaves. It is professionally shot footage.

Does anyone know what this is from and what the story behind it is? I can't even remember where I got it from.

Yeah, I have that footage too. Its funny how Prince almost falls while get off stage, holding on to that post which is really a stage prop. LOL!

BTW,I thought Prince and MJ didnt like each other.I heard from somewhere that they were supposed to "Bad" together, but their big egos clashed together. Anybody know anything about that?

It's not a repeat question because I'VE NEVER ASKED IT BEFORE! It takes you longer to respond than to just skip the thread. If you know the answer and don't feel like sharing, then move on. Are you going to comment on every thread I post?

I like that part of the video were James Brown does surgery on Prince to remove that rib.

The funniest part of that video is that Prince's "performance" is nothing of the sort. From his anti-guitar solo to his exit, Prince weirds it up. Good for him. Especially considering that MJ is on stage.

Beverly Theater in Beverly Hills, Ca. The show was released on video, but this particular footage was cut (more than likely down to contractual considerations more than anything).

Supposedly, Prince was quite reluctant to get on stage, but eventually felt obliged to do so.

and then, as he left the stage:

He was rumoured to be very embarassed about the whole thing and his less-than-significant impact.

...from my point of view the Prince - Michael 'not liking each other' thing started the 1st day they met (11/26/71)...least that's what i got from Prince talking about how he'd be way bigger than MJ, how he'd write, play & sing his own stuff...having met both of them when we were kids i felt like they clashed Bcuz of ambitions, family stuff, etc....yo moderator Tom: "94East" right???
