try "SO BLUE", when you're feeling a little blue and you will know what I mean. one of princes fantastic ballads of course, but what a ballad !. the melody waving around in the room, the strange sounding keyboard, the fantastic vocal ón the tune. man....

"BABY" is another true classic. simple lyrics, but so fine and tender... not to mention "CRAZY YOU". how could a 18-year old make melodies that fine and lasting ? with nice lyrics and a cool, relaxed and almost trance, new wave-kind of production to it ? impressive.
the record is like soft love at its best.

For You has been in the CD player of my SUV for two weeks now. Forgot how good it really is. Really great melodies and very impressive for a teenager.

it is sooo good 2 hear somebody talk about this wonderful album.i felt that shit he just said( thoughts after first hearing my love is forever). 4 real, everytime i hear that song, i begin 2 giggle a little bit.i also start doing the snake-remember that 1?- everytime just as long as we're together comes on. that whole album rocks. thanx 4 the reminder

Whenever I give someone a "Check out Prince" gift bag of goodies (some CD's & maybe a DVD), this album is always included.

No I'm not rich (yet ) however I am a budget-queen.

it may not be one of my favorite albums of his, but the title track is one of my favorites of anything he's ever recorded.

When I first listened to my "For You" LP I didn't like it at all.
Then I thought "Litte fellow, I give You a second chance!"
I played it 4 or 5 times and I became addicted somehow...

truly 4U held the elements 2 grow on many levels expressed through its honesty B4 the journey started 2 unfold...peep which song chosen as the hit 4 heavy rotation on the radio:"soft & wet", its a business after all standing on the threshold of expanding the 'sex sells' program...what's a shy guy from minni 2 do...what makes anyone think the little man went N2 the studio with 'just' the songs released on 4U? he was the 1st 2 negotiate writing, producing & performing his debut album 4 a major label!!! it most definately required U produced product that sells...let B slow the flow on this cuz it my view & ya'll may not want 2 know...

I like For You, it's a good album, and honest, feelgood pop. My favourite song is "In Love" without a doubt!
