... ...and on the subject of dvds, what about a dvd version of 3 chains o gold, i really enjoyed watching that. It is not a remaster or something, i think it is a copy of the laserdisc.... I like it though... It depends on how you like the video... I bought it not immediatley, but later (when it was 5 euro's) The cover says it is in 5:1.... but I think that is a little bit of a lie... It's your own choice, but if you are a true fan, quality doesn't matter??? It is not that bad anyway.....Just not digitally remastered....so what? I'd say go and get it! the beautiful ones, you always seem to loose

It's bad. I have the Laserdisc version to compare it to and I confirm it is too fast and of questionable quality. I do not understand that this was released... "In Funk We Thrust" - Bootsy Collins

i like it !
the surround sound is nice. eventhough it is not mixed very well (the guitar is quite low sometimes, as well as his voice), it brings some sounds to the foreground which are great to listen to. like HOT THING. yes SIR!

I like it 'cuz that DVD is a better quality than the video.Thanx to some orgers, now I know they did a lot of overdubs.I wanted to know if he was singin' live in e.g. Hot Thing and Beautiful night (take a good look.),he isn't...
It's something I can't get out of my head,''cuz at least they should have mentioned that on the cover of the DVD.I loooove the 'forever in my life/It'version,but now I know he might have sung it again and dubbed it over the origional takes, and that's not LIVE,folks!

From what I understand, in order to get a more polished looking film they shot alot of the footage on the stage at paisley park, with prince and the band miming to the previously recorded audio from the live concert (Thats why you don't see many shots showing the whole audience.) There is definitely some dubbing of vocals, especially in "Its Gonna be a Beautiful Night", but its likely that alot of the lip syncing problems are due to the reshooting. Also, I think the genuine live concert footage (of which there is some) is cut together from two or three different nights while the audio is from just one, again resulting in a few obvious "syncing" problems. So, yes, they're stretching the meaning of "live" in several ways. But, luckily, we fans who've seen him live know that all that audio/video trickery isn't employed to cover up a second-rate performance ( as it has been with many other performers), instead its an attempt by the film makers to communicate the joy, the excitment, the sheer genius of a Prince performance via a fairly restrictive format. For this, I forgive them.....Amen Of course I may be completely wrong. I'm sure some of the more rabid orgers well correct me if I am. Peace etc. "Don't hate me cos I'm beautiful"

Thanx for this new info, though I still think they could have done a better job, making a DVD of one of the best tours I've ever seen!...
