Can anyone relate to how nuts I went when I saw(heard) the different, longer version of this song. AAAAAHHHHH!!! I literally grabbed my best friend at the first showing of Purple Rain and said. "Um, okay, what is this. I don't have this version! I need this version, now!" Hyperventilation ensued. The shiznit!!!!! I'm not going to say it was the song that turned me into a fan, but it is one that helped solidify me as obsessed!. I remember watching the Purple Rain video for the first time and thinking "damn, that's a cool section of the song - why didn't they release that on the album?". he's written technically better, more musically sophisticated songs...but nothing will ever quite compare with the soaraway power of Let's Go Crazy...not only my all-time favourite Prince song, but my fav song of all-time by any artist...
