Rainbow Children Documentary

bananacologne has recently put up an image and link in the Gallery (thank you b.) which refers to a Kevin Smith documentary about the Rainbow Children... did this ever happen? I did a search and couldn't find references to it in this forum and am not an NPGclub member so no help there...

Sorry if this is old news.

Anxiety

kevin smith talked a lot about it on his "a night with kevin smith" DVD - and it's a really funny rant - but the actual documentary never surfaced.

Thanks for that Anxiety - are you able to elaborate at all on the "rant"?

I know there has supposedly been a little angst between P & Smith (was it Smith's latest film P reportedly walked out of because of the bad language?Perhaps I am confusing him with another director).

I am curious about responses to TRC generally as it seems to be Prince's most explicit work with regard to his religious beliefs.

I use the word explicit purposely - as I see connections between the current religious explicitness and the past explicit sexuality i.e. that Prince is out there with what is most current for him. This has been discussed in other threads I know - although perhaps more indirectly.
Cheers

Kevin is indeed the one you heard about regarding Prince walking out of "Jersey Girl."

As for the rant, he goes into pretty good detail on his whole experience making this documentary that he really didn't want to make. It was as if he was given the project without any kind of direction or insights as to what Prince wanted.

As for the documentary, I recall seeing portions of it playing at Best Buy on their TVs when TRC was released. So, it had resurfaced in a way, but not that any of us would be able to get our hands on it. confused

Maybe Kevin DOESN'T want to see it resurface if it's bad. Then again, he is a self-proclaimed "press whore". lol

I suck at using the search engine on here, so sorry I can't be more of a help, smile but for sure the rant has been discussed in detail and even transcribed word for word on here more than once...maybe you can find it in the archives?
