WE R AS 1 AND BELIEVE THAT KILLING IS NOT THE ANSWER FOR THE ARABS.....HAVE U ASK YOURSELF WHY THEY DO THE KILLINGS IN PALESTINE? JEWS.....AMERICA SUPPORTS THE JEWS IN EVERYWAY . THEY GIVE THEM WEAPONS 2 USE ON YOUNG PALESTIAN CHILDREN. TRUE Story.

I had a roomate move in with me in December 2001 just a few months after 9/11.
I thought he was hispanic, but found out that he was Morrocon and a Muslim.

I was intimidated by this becuase Muslims and Buddhist have not had the most mutually agreeable history with each other. Contrary to popular belief, Muslims allowed Christians and Jews to live freely with them without any conflic for hundreds of years when they owned Jeruselem. But the same history was never true with Buddhist. In fact, Muslim invasions actually wiped out Buddhism from it's homeland in India.

ANyways, I was paranoid to a slight extend during this time.
But he was my roomate for 2 years, always paid the bills on time, and completely broke me of the sick and bad habbit of equating a "muslim" person to "Extremists".
He was just a regular guy, with regular habbits--one of the coolest persons I know. He was able to speak english, french, and arabic fluently and enjoyed all cultures. He love America and americans, but strongly disliked Bush.

I know just what you're going through becuase he often expressed the discrimination he was feeling during that period of time.

I can only say there are those of us out there who understand.

the day 9-11 happened, i saw live on the hv Palestinians dancing for joy in the streets -- where was their compassion for our children and the parents they lost that day? these also were innocents -- people who went to work in very normal jobs -- not part of our military -- why would people rejoice at the loss of innocents no matter where they live? it is a very sad thing what has happened between Israel and the Palestinians... but i do side with Israel -- they've been there for 3000+ years and they do have a right to protect themselves. The Palestinians were offered their own homeland and didn't take it. Arafat himself said he wouldn't be satisfied until the Palestians had all of Jerusalem and the Jews were pushed out into the Mediterranean. People just need to stop fighting and start loving -- our compassion for each other's needs will solve any problems we have, but it's hard to have compassion (on either side) if we keep lashing out with hate. Suicide bombers in buses and restaurants makes no sense to me. Again, why kill the innocents and rejoice in their blood? There's got to be a better way, and we need to stop pointing fingers at each other and start looking at ourselves. We're the ones who are going to make the difference, if we do it right. <-- and there's the problem, everyone has their own version of right. Know this: Love is never wrong.

snap i don't agree with you because i think in the "war" between jews and palestians there's one difference, jews have a lot of weapons but palestian no, they protect themselves as they can. i am not sayind that is good someone feels happy when other is killed but i think that the situation is so odd and bad that nobody can empathyze with other. because of that i like prince video because the girl in it it's seeing things from both sides.
i agree with you in not happiness for killing people. in my country this years it has been the greatest terrorist attack in our recent history, at that i have to thank to extremist in both sides, mainly because we had never had troubles with muslims but i have to thank this new bad relationship to my "wonderful" fortunately ex-president aznar with his politics and his defence with bush.

even though prince's video doesn't touch on the real causes of terrorism in any great depth (he instead uses terroristic images to convey his ongoing message that racial discrimination is bad), just these posts - which are representative of persons holding different belief systems and therefore different persepctives - are enough to demonstrate that people of the world need to work through their religious differences and find a common ground.
