When did Duran Duran open for Prince??

on Duran Duran's Astronaut DVD Nick Rhodes was telling the girl who was opening for them that Duran Duran opened for Bowie once and Prince..thats a great double bill...anybody know when and where this was?

Never !
But in 1993, Prince played some open-air shows in Germany at a festival called "Rock over Germany" and Duran Duran performed right before him.
So if you want, they "opened" for him.

As far as I remember, their performance was very good.

well... never seems 2 b wrong...
@least as far as i remember they played (openend) the concert in basel and lausanne in the 90ies (nude tour 2 name it) in switzerland...

i might b wrong on the year (and 2 lazy 2 search 4) - but i am pretty shure they openend 4 him... cos i was there too

these were the dayz.....

those dates sound about right, i am a big fan of duran duran too (although nowhere near the point i am of prince) and in 92 or 93 i bought a maxi single of 'ordinary world' which had live acoustic versions of 'hungry like the wolf' and 'notorious', in the middle of 'notorious' simon sings 'you sexy mother fucker!' followed by some funky bass, i always thought that was very cool! by the way how is that astronaut cd/dvd, i almost bought it the other day....

I always thought that their LP Notorius had a lot of Prince influence on it especially "Skin Trade" It was definetly "Kiss" inspired
