Okay, since we just had the happiest Prince song, what is the saddest Prince song or songs. The saddest Prince songs I can think of off the top of my head are "Come Back" (I always thought he wrote that song about the child he lost), and "I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore." I'm curious to hear what your saddest Prince song or songs would be. Please feel free to post them. I'm sure I will be adding more myself as I give this some more thought.

'Sex In The Summer' - because of the ultrasound heartbeat in the music. Prince must have been so happy when that was recorded and now hearing that song makes me think about how sad he must have felt after the death of his child.

A few people mentioned "Sometimes it Snows in April". That was a very sad song! I remember the first time I heard it, it made me feel sad, almost to the point of crying. Another great song!

Another sad song is "Let's Have A Baby". I read that the song made Mayte cry every time she heard it, which is understandable with the untimely death of their son.

I'm sure there are other sad songs too that I have forgotten about.

and for dramatic, indulgent sadness: "condition of the heart". very lovely.

same with "the beautiful ones" too.

but, no! i've just thought of a winner in some ways. "if i was your girlfriend"- is so heartfelt, painful and sad. oh, gosh, and the proper good version of "old friends 4 sale" (no strings, etc and original lyrics) is just very very sad indeed.
