What was the name of the keyboard Wendy & Lisa used in the 80's on most of Prince's stuff? I wanna hunt around for the keyboard on eBay to create some authentic Minneapolis sounding tracks.
Anyone know? | |

Buy/download yourself a copy of the Pro 53 softsynth. This one is based on the Prophet 5 synth, which was closely related to the Oberheim. You should be able to get some decent "Minneapolis" sounds from it. RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

What's that? Is that a plug-in?

Pro-53 (/Pro-52) is only the best-selling soft synth of all time...

Is this it? Does it have a MIDI socket so I can plug it into my computer and record?

That is the way it looks but it is no hardware! The Pro-53 is a software synthesizer which can be used as a VST or standalone softsynth, eg. within Cubase. You can either download it from Kazaa or buy it in a shop. RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Downloading programs from filesharing applications is still considered illegal. And MattyJam, I'm sorry to break you on this, but if you seriously don't know what a software synthesizer is I recommend you don't buy anything before you learn at least the basics of music production. Software synthesizers have been around since 1996 and they are the most popular brand of synthesizers used, both in the amateur and the professional circles, today. I have no idea how something basic as this could have escaped you.....
