"Rapsberry Beret" is one of those simple pop songs that Prince probably wrote in five minutes...lol...it's cute and charming,but not very substantial.

"Do Me Baby" just sounds so over-the-top and the lyrics are silly,especially the spoken segment near the end ("I'm so cold"??).

I know "Purple Rain" is his signature ballad now and it is a well written song, but that song never did anything for me, even live. "Darling Nikki" (though I did get a kick out of watching him perform it). I also hate "International Lover", that song makes me cringe too.

Sly has been a cornerstone for our guy ever since the git go. Chaka Khan said the little nut lured her down to a studio in 77 or 78 by doing a sly imitation and asking her to come to the studio.

Also, Prince has complained in RS that critics totally write off his slow jams.Truth be told, his slow songs are much richer in texture with the chords he uses and the arrangements, covering jazz and gospel. My best friend doesn't even like Prince's fast songs at all and has always maintained the slow songs are what he does best. I'd say alot of his fast songs are mediocre, even when they are more marketable.
