How about WHEN U LOVE SOMEBODY from New Power Soul?????

Oh wait, I must be the only idiot on the org who's heard that album, OOOOOPS!! (only half of it is good though, the other half is kitty litter)

eek

And I hate to say it, but in my opinion, GOOD LOVE is the gayest freakin song EVER! Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course, but that song bothers me somethin fierce! Sure, it'll probably win most votes for happiest song, but GAAAAAWD it's annoyingly happy! ICK! He shoulda given that song away.....

to Chanhassen City Waste Management!! HA!! lol

This comes from a hardcore Prince fan of 19 years so no flames, please.. just my opinion.

what prince song is the most joyous, uplifting, hands down ecstatically happiest one of them all?

for me it's "good love", the full version of course, not the abridged thing on "crystal ball". that song is *so* ecstatic, it's the most playful thing. it makes sunshine brighter.

with "la, la, la, he, he, hee" 12" being a close second.

No! if there's one thing eye no... it's that "good love" is prince at his most ecstatic, elfin, octave-soaring, wacky arrangement-arranging, inventive, playful, delirious, wonderful BEST! (long version everytime, however.) and extra points for mentioning gustav mahler jammin' on the box!! unbeatable, untouchable, unique and shimmering prince.

The song with the horns honking that you're thinking of is "Walk Don't Walk" off the Diamonds and Pearls album. biggrin

psychodelicide - you won't get beaten up my me! I remember listening to "Everywhere" for the first time at the Celebration, and I distinctly remember getting a huge smile on my face and being overcome with feelings of joy as I listened and read the lyrics at the same time. Out of all the tracks on TRC that I heard at the Celebration, "Everywhere" was the song that I absolutely could not wait to hear again. So, you are not alone on your choice. smile

Yeah, I have to agree. "Everywhere" surely has an extra-joyous feel to it.

Also...
Starfish and Koffee
When You Were Mine (I don't know, it just makes me smile)
Betcha By Golly Wow
Mr. Happy "Turn off that weak jam man...Come on...Mr. Happy is here, and we're Buggin..." (I love it lol )

Off the top of my head...that's it

Blue Cashmere/Prince
"Don't Play Me"

Wow another one who likes "Everywhere". Cool!

Just wondering how someone who love Scandalous so much can call Good Love 'gay and freaky'? Although I like it now I used to make so much fun of that song when Batman was current. It was a little too much... and have you heard the 'Sex Suite' version with Kim Basinger? Who the Hell thought that was a good idea, my lord.

I PERSONALLY THINK THE LINE SHOULD START AND END WITH THIS CORNERMAN CLOWN.

HEY CORNERMAN, WHILE YOU'RE SITTING THERE MISINTERPRETING YET ANOTHER THREAD, HOW ABOUT CONSIDERING A NAME CHANGE TO FINGERMAN??

THEN YOU CAN SHINE IT UP REAL NICE, TURN THAT SHIT SIDEWAYS, AND STICK IT STRAIGHT UP YOUR CANDY-ASS!!!!!

Did someone put battery acid in your cheerios? Holy Christ, I'm down on my knees begging for forgiveness for mis-reading what you said! Since you can rag on whatever you want but if someone doesn't agree with you then you have to flip like Christian Slater on a news reporter, damn dude! I even quoted you as saying "no flames" so that you would see I was only trying to make a comaprison, and not light a fire under your ass. But, obviously, you can't handle a difference of oppionion so I'm sorry. I'm sorry I mis-read your typing, but since what you said and what I thought you said both mean the SAME THING. I guess it's not that important now is it. I'll take your advice and change my name to "fingerman" cause that's WAY creative, and funny like a RASH! calm down man, fuck. get a clue.

to me, the happiest Prince song happens to also be my all-time favorite..

ALL MY DREAMS

that song is as light as air, but still a little funky, adventurous, with everything from that frolicking piano interlude to the train blowing its whistle.. then the final refrain & verse then the

"..DON'T ever lose your dreeeeeams
YEAH!"

This song is so upliftingly positive.. that's why I said in a post elsewhere that this is the song I'd like played at the end of my homegoing service.. it's so UP, how could anybody leave the service & not feel at least a little better?

Yeah, that song ALWAYS puts me in a good mood..
in fact, these days it's a song I should be listening to every day..

"marry me today & tonight we'll make love.. until the world stops turning.."
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

When I started reading your comments I thought - it surely had to be "play in the sunshine". But come ti think of it - it has to be "strollin" this is such a cheerful song. It is followed closely by "Courtin' Time" and "I Wish U Heaven".

You know what I am getting in quite a good mood just by thinking about these songs.

Smile boys and girls and the world will smile to you. Sommer is near and the girls are starting to wear less clothes. What more can a guy wish for???
