The top ten was a joke. It was simply aimed at the US market with a view to selling it on, just like the C4 & BBC has been pimping itself over the last year.

I agree that not having Duran Duran and Culture Club was a bit of a slip up but Joy Division did deserve to be there with the Beastie Boys. The 5 artists that are nominated automatically... What is Madonna doing there over Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd? I could go on.. I really don't understand the need for another 'list' on channel 4, they are getting quite boring

I agree that some of their nominations were a joke. I love Duran Duran and The Cure but they are no where to be found! The Beasty Boys and REM are fine acts but surly their time was in the 90's/00's!

intresting statment about this vote being aimed at the U.S. market, most of these act do come from the U.S. In their Vote you've got to've been relessing for 25 years yeah? In the UK one it's only 5 and it lets the public vote too. BIG MISTAKE... this is the same public who made the spice girls, take that, and pop idol popular!!
