How does Prince depict women in his music?

If you had to give one definitive answer to the above question, what would it be?

I started this thread on an EmJay board and I'm curious to see what the answers are for Prince.

.... as though they are only good for one thing...

And that "one thing" he is looking for can be found with many women and this is why he has so many "muses."

When he leaves one woman or when a woman leaves him, he has another one right there, in the wings waiting.

By him writing "love" songs for every girl he kisses, proves to me that he only loves them for one thing...

I was gonna say the same.

Whores (the ones he fucks), saints (the ones he falls in love with), and bitches (the ones who dump him).

ya'll are crAzy.

what makes you think all the songs are true stories?

whoever said he had more than 1 muse?

maybe all of his songs are about the same muse?

maybe all of his songs together define love?

Prince's music is very imaginative...

so peeps, it is required that you also use your imagination...

The question was "How does Prince depict women in his music?" Nobody's talking about how he feels or treats women in his life-just his music.

Anyway....

I agree, whores/evil bitches or saints. There is no in-between with his songs.

Toatally agree... there are songs that are so beautiful that it sounds as if he profoundly in love with the woman in his song but there are songs that are good and skilled but he depicts women as total sluts whors and infeior people for example The Beautiful Ones vs. Darling Nikki

As one-dimensional paper dolls. Most of the songs are totally non-descript in their depiction of women. Knowing that all his women are 120 lb models that are young and exotic looking, makes him sound, to my ears, even more of a womaniser. You can tell he's never actually met a REAL woman with a personality.
