yet several of his songs talk about drinking wine or champagne. Do you think he does that just to complete the rhyme or does he really drink some forms of alcohol?

well he drank it in UTCM but it could have just been water.

I've read so many articles where they refer to him as a tea totaller, as if it's just a universal fact.
When the Star Tribune did that expose this past year and they talked to everyone who has ever worked with him, they quoted Wendy talking about the time that he reprimanded her for drinking when the media was around.
I always heard that he was ANTI drugs and ANTI alcohol and would not allow anyone in the band to consume either.

methinks that's what you WANT to believe. the only drug he dabbled with that has been CONFIRMED is ecstasy and only ONCE. he may have tried pot in his youth but to say "he used to take drugs and drink sometimes" is seriously pushing it when the man is obviously so virtually tee-total and health-conscious.

Arsenio Hall said on his show that Prince introduced him to a drink called "Port" whatever that is.

so prince has tried x, he has smoked pot, HE DRINKS, has smoked a bit.

He is not hooked on anything, nor made any lasting habits. And he does not forbid drinking, etc with his bandmates (Larry drinks!), I think he just doesn't want them "wasted" on paid time, or sleazy on camera.
