Sound f/x Just some trivia - I was a film student back in 1989 and we had these old sound f/x records we could use in our films. It was just run of the mill industry stuff and they were copyright-free. They were actually vinyl and came in a box of about ten. Typical stuff - "lion roaring", "F-14 jet", "baseball game", etc.
So i'm a big Prince fan back then and as I go through these f/x I keep getting audio deja vu. Then I realize that I'm hearing f/x from many Prince songs. I remember hearing: the baby at the end of "Delerious", the first sound of "Eye No" (called Space Clouds), the general crowd noise from Sheila E.'s "Mercy for the Speed...", the whimpering lady from "The Scandolous Sex Suite" (it's not Kim Bassinger), and more I can't remember right now. I was temted to make a bunch of fake outtakes with our sound equipment, but realized I only be fooling myself. Let the rain come down

That's cool. I knew these sound F/X records existed and have often wondered if Prince has used them or if he got someone to go and make bespoke recordings for him.

I remember coming across the street noise from "Lady Cab Driver" on a F/X record.
